How to Retire Equipment

There are two methods of retiring, or scrapping, an item of Equipment. The method is dependant on whether the item in question belongs to you (Stock or Hire) or a Customer (Customer’s Own).

If the piece of equipment belongs to you:

Go to the equipment record to be retired. On the financial tab, click the ‘Retire’ button. You will be prompted with a confirmation of this choice.

Further, you will be requested to specify when the equipment was retired. Select the appropriate date and time and this will automatically update the ‘Retirement Date’ field once confirmed. The status will also advance to ‘Retired’ status.

If the Equipment belongs to a Customer:

Go to the equipment record to be retired. From status drop down menu, select ‘Customer’s Retired’ from the list. You will be asked to confirm the selection. Click ‘Yes’ and the status changes to ‘Customer’s Retired’.
