Protean Outlook Add-In
The Protean outlook add-in is available on any machine with Protean Client installed and Outlook 2010 or later installed.
Once installed you will notice the Protean button to the top right of any open emails in Outlook. You may need to ‘Pop out’ the email to see the option:
There are three things the Protean Add-In can do for you, all are based on the person who you have received an email from existing in your contacts list in Protean.
Add to CRM History
This will create a task for you within Protean assigned to the customer record associated with the contact on the email., the text and any attachments on the email will automatically be added to the task.
Look Up Contact
This will look to see if the email address exists as a contact on Protean, and if so show you their contact record.
Create Job
This will create a job within Protean assigned to the customer record associated with the contact on the email, the text and any attachments on the email will automatically be added to the job.
If the contact does not exist and you try to create a job (or lookup contact you will get the following message.
So you need to add the email address to a contact / create a new contact within Protean.
If the contact does not exist and you try to add to CRM history, it will create a task but not link in the Customer, so you will need to do this from the task created.
