Within Protean a Stock Record can be Superseded or a list of Equivalences set.
Open a Stock Record we have a Supersede option at the bottom and within the Other Tab, an Equivalences table.
- Click the Supersede option and you’ll be asked to enter the Part number of the part you want to supersede this one. This action will set the current part as obsolete however, this will not move stock out of Protean.
- To set an Equivalent part to this one, click the Yellow + icon and you’ll be asked to select a part from the stock search screen.
- Selecting a part will then add itself to the table shown above. When the current part record is out of stock the system will be ask user if any of the equivalent parts can be used in its place.
